In an article published in 2017 entitled Suppression of Poxvirus Replication by Resveratrol with contributors from the  National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA, United States it was stated that the cheap readily available supplement Resveratol a stilbenoid found in red grape skins amongst other natural sources  can strongly  inhibit the replication of monkey pox virus. Given that the smallpox vaccine is in very short supply and the other antivirals must be kept in reserve for severe cases should we not be promoting the use of reservatol as a prophylactic or treatment if this gets out of hand. The UK currently has only 5000 doses of the smallpox vaccine and more doses ordered by the US government for America will not be delivered until the Autumn.
