Interested to read this article...try googling this subject and there is very little information on it....talk to your GP and chances are they will say "scrum what'?...

Its almost the unmentioned contact sport disease..but its a virus, and you'll have it for life, that is my understanding of it.

...my story is I have had it now for 20 years, I was a rugby player, early on I thought nothing of it, 'it came with the territory, when I was a young man my body shrugged it off, as I have got older (now 47) my bouts have become more frequent, and it has begun to be a regular health factor in my life, looking back now, it probably always has been.

Little has changed in my treatment over this time period, i have only ever been prescribed aciclover, which now is virtually ineffective, no other treatments have been offered to me by my GP, despite me requesting it....I have never been been sent to a viral expert (if they exist)

I'm very interested to start a discussion with someone about this virus, as very little is known by medical staff, especially my GP, it distresses me slightly to read that it has taken the life of two wrestlers...I think this article needs to clarify that point, or is it just being alarmist.
