    “ Scarlet fever was common and occurred as epidemics in the 1800s. The death rate from Scarlet fever then was as high as 150/100,000.”

    Several other sources say that the mortality rate in the 1800s pre-antibiotics was more like 15 to 20%. Is this just a typo?
