    Also, a note on the author's assertion that "facemasks were recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) in June 2020": This is only partially true. It recommended medical masks only for certain categories of at-risk people, or if you were symptomatic. It recommended the use of non-medical masks only in public areas of high transmission.
