The Ultraseal™ LITE from Porvair Sciences is a simple, portable heat sealer that can securely close glass tubes and microplates made of polypropylene, polyethylene, and polystyrene.
This small, user-friendly device is fully electrical, requires no gas inputs, and is ideal for low to medium-throughput laboratories. It can seal up to 6 plates per minute with a high level of integrity and reproducibility.
Intuitively created to auto-detect and adjust in response to a wide range of plate heights, the Ultraseal™ LITE eliminates the need for spacers and lowers the risk of cross-contamination when sealing standard microplates.
Slide and seal
To initiate the sealing program, pre-cut sheets of surface-modified aluminum or plastic film (~78 mm × 128 mm) are placed on the plate surface. The sliding drawer is then pushed shut. As the Ultraseal™ LITE can seal plates that range in height from 9 mm to 48 mm, there is no need for plate height spacing.
Plates are tightly sealed, automatically ejected, and ready for downstream applications such as storage and transportation in under ten seconds.
Smooth operation
To achieve a tight seal every time, consistent time and pressure are essential. The system’s operation is designed to quickly and precisely align a heat-activated sealing medium to the top surface of a microplate or tube rack.
Heat and time-based variables can be easily programmed using the touchscreen control pad to improve the caliber, robustness, and integrity of sealing. With a temperature range of up to 200 °C, the Ultraseal™ LITE can seal a variety of sealing films and foils.
