Bioniche Pharma, a leading developer and manufacturer of injectable pharmaceuticals, announced today the launch of Mefoxin® (cefoxitin injection) frozen premix bags. The launch marks the company's first product offering to be supplied in a frozen premix bag presentation. Mefoxin (cefoxitin injection) is manufactured by Baxter Healthcare Corporation using Baxter's proprietary GALAXY container technology.

The legislation's main concepts include the requirement that individuals buy health insurance, a plan that would help eliminate pre-existing condition exclusions and spread risk more widely, and subsidies to help people buy coverage to meet the new requirement (Rovner, 3/9).

Americans for Tax Reform asks for clarification on applicability of 2.9% surtax on capital gains

Americans for Tax Reform today sent a letter to President Obama asking him to clarify whether or not the 2.9 percent surtax on "unearned income" applies to capital gains. If Obama's tax increase does fall on capital gains, the marginal tax rate on capital gains will eventually rise to 22.9 percent from today's level of 15 percent.

Cantel Medical's fiscal 2010 second-quarter net income up 29%

CANTEL MEDICAL CORP. reported a 29% increase in net income to $4,876,000, or $0.29 per diluted share, on a 6.7% increase in sales to $66,587,000 for the second quarter ended January 31, 2010. This compares with net income of $3,774,000, or $0.23 per diluted share, on sales of $62,420,000 for the second quarter ended January 31, 2009.
