The iPosture, a posture improvement device developed by Memphis-based neurologist Moacir Schnapp, M.D., is now available for purchase in the United Kingdom via iPosture Direct.
The small device, which first launched in the United States in November 2008, was created to serve as an aid to men and women in improving their posture – a personal posture coach, if you will. Worn as a pendant, clipped to clothing or adhered directly to the skin, the iPosture immediately begins improving a user’s posture by vibrating intermittently when the user slouches and continuing to vibrate until posture is corrected. The iPosture is designed to be worn for approximately four hours per day for the first two to four weeks in order to ingrain good posture behavior. Once a user learns to correct him- or herself, he or she will continue to do so even when not wearing the device. However, the user should continue to use the device two to three times per week thereafter to maintain posture improvement.
“Since the iPosture’s U.S. launch, we’ve received a steady stream of inquiries from people in the U.K. who were interested in the device.
