Campbell Soup's initiative to help reduce obesity

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Campbell Soup Company is proud to team up with fellow members of the food and beverage industry, its retail customers and non-governmental organizations as part of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation to help reduce obesity by 2015.

The Foundation will promote the importance of energy balance – balancing calories eaten with calories burned through activity – focusing on three critical areas: the marketplace, the workplace and in schools.

“Joining the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation is a natural fit for Campbell,” said Denise Morrison, President Campbell North America Soup, Sauces and Beverages and Secretary of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation. “Campbell’s participation in this effort is an important way to help people understand how our products can help them to manage their weight as part of a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity.”

Morrison continued, “As part of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, Campbell is committed to building on our portfolio of healthy products in the marketplace – especially those well-suited in supporting healthy weight; continuing our work with leading wellness organizations to help educate people about the importance of a healthy lifestyle; building on our nationally-recognized and award-winning employee wellness programs to support our employees and their families; and continuing to strengthen our commitment to America’s schools with programs such as our longstanding Labels for Education program.”
