House Lawmaker says "We have the votes…let's get 'er done!"

Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA) shot back today at what he called "baloney" coming from Washington Republicans: "Every step along the way these nattering nabobs of negativity have said we couldn't get it done.  They said we would never move a bill out of Energy and Commerce.  They said the Senate Finance Committee would never report a bill.  They said the House vote would be strictly party lines and that the Senate would never let it out.  Well, here we are at the finish line, and they're at it again.  Maybe it is time they start being a part of the process and a part of the solution, and stop relying on bad math and phony vote counts to bring down one of the most important domestic issues of our generation and generations to come.  While we seek bipartisan participation, because we all know these problems require all hands on deck, clearly Democrats are the party of 'Get 'er Done' and Republicans are the party of 'Just Say No.' I'm looking forward to joining with a majority of my colleagues in voting yes to ensure Americans have access to quality affordable healthcare that establishes a stronger financial future for our country."
