IMIX, Arcoma announce intended merger

IMIX, an end-user provider of superior digital radiography (DR) systems, and Arcoma, a leading supplier of medical radiology systems and sub-systems, announce a letter-of-intent to combine the two companies into a single holding company, IMIX Holding AB. The proposed combination will allow both companies to offer a comprehensive line of leading radiology systems and sub-systems to markets and customers around the world.

“Arcoma’s leadership position in tables and auto-positioning systems fits seamlessly with the IMIX DR product line”

The intended combination enhances the strengths of both companies by creating a large portfolio of complementary products and technologies. The proposed combination also enhances the ability of both companies to sell their products and services through expanded access to new markets and customers.

The intended combined company will have its headoffice in Växjö, Sweden, and will have sales/service offices in the US, EU and China, along with manufacturing, research and development facilities in Växjö, Sweden, Tampere, Finland and Luzern, Switzerland.

According to Goran Axelsson, chairman of the board of IMIX Holding AB, the intended combination is a unique opportunity to bring together two innovative companies, each with well-regarded global brands. “IMIX and Arcoma each offer a comprehensive array of digital radiography solutions,” he said. “Our combination will provide enhanced value for customers in the digital radiography market and further our combined mission of providing DR systems and sub-systems that deliver quality, affordability, reliability, and unmatched value.”

According to Axelsson, the IMIX brand will remain in place for end-user system sales, and the Arcoma brand will stay in existence for the manufacturing and sale of sub-systems. The merged group will have design and manufacturing capabilities in the areas of digital detectors, X-ray generators, and a wide variety of X-ray positioning mechanics.

Peter Reinli, chief executive officer of IMIX ADR Ltd., said the intended combination will result in enhanced financial strength, an expanded product portfolio, and stronger relationships with customers. “Arcoma’s leadership position in tables and auto-positioning systems fits seamlessly with the IMIX DR product line,” Reinli said. “In addition, the intended combined company will benefit from Arcoma’s strong R&D and its large certified manufacturing facility in Växjö, Sweden, which will support future growth and innovation.”

Per Hermansson, chief executive officer and founder of Arcoma, said the companies are an ideal fit because they are both passionate about developing high-quality, affordable products for the radiology market. “We share a Scandinavian background and the same philosophy and heritage of quality,” he said. “The intended combination will strengthen us as a global supplier of services, knowledge, technologies, and systems to OEM customers and dealer networks.”
