NNIT, a leading Danish IT consultancy, has chosen Verizon Business to deploy and manage a global communications infrastructure for Novo Nordisk, the global health care company.  A fully managed Verizon Private IP solution will provide secure, scalable and flexible connectivity for 75 of Novo Nordisk's locations around the world, helping the company to streamline its global operations, while also realizing cost and management efficiencies.

Novo Nordisk is a world leader in diabetes care, as well as other health specialties. The company, which is headquartered in Denmark, markets its products in 179 countries and employs more than 29,000 employees globally.

Novo Nordisk charged NNIT to identify a single service provider that could consolidate and streamline the company's overall network to develop a future-proof infrastructure better able to support its overall business strategy. NNIT chose Verizon Business, due to the company's global reach, extensive service and solutions portfolio, and proven expertise in supporting multinational companies.

The Verizon Private IP solution offers Novo Nordisk a firm foundation on which the company can build its current and future communications solutions.  In addition, with Verizon managed services' stringent service-level agreements supporting network availability, Novo Nordisk can focus on its own business development, knowing that its network infrastructure is in good hands.

Peter Wennerwald, manager at NNIT, said: "A global company such as Novo Nordisk needs truly global IT service to support business expansion. The Verizon Business team not only demonstrated a strong understanding of Novo Nordisk's overall objectives, but could also demonstrate how its global network reach, solutions portfolio and expertise combine to support business growth. We are confident that we have chosen a partner to support Novo Nordisk's long-term business needs."

Stuart Curzon, group vice president for international sales, Verizon Business EMEA, said: "The pharmaceutical market is highly competitive, and a company's ability to bring products and solutions to market quickly and effectively is absolutely business-critical. Verizon Business has a strong track record of support for high-growth industries, helping them to achieve their business goals, and we look forward to supporting Novo Nordisk's expanding global operations, working alongside the NNIT team."

Verizon Business manages 270,000-plus devices on more than 4,200 customer networks in 142 countries and territories, overseeing non-Verizon connections from more than 60 network providers around the world.  Verizon Business' industry-leading service-level commitments and award-winning IMPACT management platform underscore its legacy of service and innovation.  Verizon Business also offers a suite of professional network and security services to help customers optimise network design, scalability and protection.
