OnBase ECM software suite continues to be top choice for healthcare organizations

With "meaningful use" a reality, healthcare providers need complete electronic health records. They're quickly learning that to make this happen, they must bring together both electronic data and paper-based content. It's certainly a challenge – one that involves many solutions, not just an electronic medical record (EMR) like Eclipsys or Cerner. Proven to integrate EMR data with those important faxes and scans, as well as clinical content such as EKG results, ECM is gaining more attention as a key technology. The OnBase ECM software suite, which benefits more than 1,000 healthcare facilities worldwide, continues to be a top choice for organizations.

"Healthcare providers imagine an ideal electronic health record that paints the full patient care picture," said Susan deCathelineau, healthcare manager for Hyland Software. "An EMR alone simply can't do that. More often, providers are seeing a clear line forming between what EMRs handle well – structured data – and what ECM solutions like OnBase do – integrate the unstructured content to create a more complete patient record. Our 19 percent year-over-year growth in healthcare is the proof. Providers aren't just thinking about ECM as an application. They're making it a critical part of their electronic health record strategy."

Here are a few new OnBase healthcare customers:

University Hospitals (UH) – Cleveland, Ohio

University Hospitals, one of the nation's leading health care systems, focuses on providing compassionate, quality medical care to patients at locations throughout Northeast Ohio. UH integrates OnBase with the Eclipsys EMR.

Tucson Medical Center – Tucson, Ariz.

Established in 1943 as a community hospital, Tucson Medical Center is the core of TMC HealthCare, Southern Arizona's regional non-profit hospital system. Tucson Medical Center integrates OnBase with the Epic EMR.

The Vancouver Clinic – Vancouver, Wash.

Since 1936, The Vancouver Clinic has provided healthcare to the Southwest region of Washington state. It currently is one of the largest private employers in the region, with more than 700 employees. The Vancouver Clinic integrates OnBase with the Epic EMR.
