WorkplaceDiversity.com to present Diversity and Inclusion Healthcare Summit

WorkplaceDiversity.com, in partnership with Learning Works, will present the Diversity and Inclusion Healthcare Summit, on August 3. Hosted by The New York Times, the summit – "Moving from Talk to Action" – will examine the workplace impact as millions more Americans enter the healthcare system.

"The new healthcare regulation is a game-changer," says WorkplaceDiversity.com COO Dan Honig. "It'll affect several industries and by being proactive, we will be able to anticipate and embrace these changes."

The summit will be held in the New York Times Building (620 Eighth Avenue) in New York City and will aim to encourage inclusive access by minimizing disparities within the system as well as discuss strategies for culturally competent healthcare management.

"It's imperative that those who contribute directly or indirectly to the healthcare system remain aware of diversity and inclusion as they work to minimize the disparities in access, especially to the emerging majorities within our system," says Carole Weinstein, chief learner of Learning Works. "Diversity practitioners and healthcare administrators, as well as business leaders, can gain insight from this summit."

Speakers at the event will include Judy Seidenstein and Kerry R. Watson of the Duke University Health System and Mark Nivet, CEO of the American Association of Medical Colleges.

Representatives from the Mount Sinai Medical Center, Center for Inclusion at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center (UPMC), North Shore-LIJ Health System, and Hofstra University Medical School will also speak.
