VWR International signs agreement to acquire scientific distribution businesses of EBOS Group

VWR International, LLC, a leading global laboratory supply and distribution company, announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire the scientific distribution businesses of EBOS Group Limited, subject to customary closing conditions. The parties anticipate completion of the transaction on or about September 1, 2010.

The scientific businesses of the EBOS Group distribute general laboratory supplies and life science products in Australia and New Zealand through Quantum Scientific Pty Ltd., Crown Scientific, and Global Science & Technology Limited. The businesses have primary facilities in Sydney and Brisbane, Australia, as well as Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand. The companies supply customers in the industrial, pharmaceutical, hospital and university sectors. Annual revenues are approximately 40 million U.S. dollars.
