ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a new $11.7 million contract by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The contract has a term of three years. The contract is awarded under a CDC National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities ID/IQ task order.

ICF will provide comprehensive evaluation support to the CDC's "Communities Putting Prevention to Work" (CPPW) initiative, the cornerstone of a comprehensive HHS prevention and wellness initiative funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. CPPW grantees address the leading preventable causes of death and disability, namely obesity and tobacco use, by expanding the use of practice and evidence-based strategies and programs, mobilizing resources at the community level, and strengthening the capacity of communities and states. ICF will monitor and report on the progress made by the grantees, deliver evaluation and technical assistance, and support a variety of evaluation components of the CPPW initiative.
