Cedars-Sinai selects Encore for multi-million dollar EMR project

Encore Health Resources (Encore), a leader in advanced information-technology services for the global healthcare industry, announced today that it has been selected by Cedars-Sinai Health System to partner in the organization-wide implementation of the health system's multi-million dollar electronic medical record (EMR) project. The partnership marks a significant competitive win for Encore, one of the fastest-growing health-information technology (HIT) services companies in the United States and recently named an "up and coming player" by KLAS Research. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Encore will partner with Cedars-Sinai to plan and implement the next scheduled phase of CS-Link™, which will focus on expanding computerized physician order entry (CPOE) and physician documentation at the hospital. CS-Link™ is a multi-year, organization-wide initiative that will merge the health system's existing financial and clinical applications into a single, integrated application suite.

"As part of our long-standing commitment to provide the highest quality patient care, Cedars-Sinai has chosen Encore for the proven skills and capabilities they bring to the table," said Darren Dworkin, CIO, Cedars-Sinai Health System.

The Encore partnership with Cedars-Sinai is focused on enabling the health system to achieve complete success in its CPOE implementation, putting the necessary tools in place to maintain such success for years to come. A specific objective of the project is that Encore help Cedars-Sinai to attract and retain an internal team trained in skills and know-how that will reduce the use of consultants over time. Encore and Cedars refer to this part of the partnership as "sustainability" - a term describing the delivery of high service levels to Cedars' stakeholders that are independent of third-party support after project completion.

"At Cedars-Sinai, we'll ensure that process redesign is incorporated with application capabilities that support user adoption," said Dana Sellers, President and CEO, Encore Health Resources. "In bringing solutions to Cedars-Sinai, we're committed to helping them achieve their immediate goals while preparing for a continued future of excellence. To that end, our success will not only be measured along the way, but ultimately proven by Cedars-Sinai continued success with CPOE in the years to come."
