Goodwin House selects Healthsense as aging services technology provider

Healthsense, Inc. is pleased to announce that Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads has selected Healthsense as their aging services technology provider. Healthsense's technology solutions will help Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads meet their goal of providing a high standard of service that promotes health and wellness to maximize the quality of life and safety of their residents. Healthsense will be installing a state of the art Wi-Fi based emergency call system that will cover the entire eight-acre campus and meet the call system needs for Bailey's Crossroads' Residential, Assisted, Memory Support and Skilled Nursing settings.

The Healthsense solution gives Bailey's Crossroads an industry leading call system with features, such as state of the art location tracking, which helps staff locate a resident anywhere on the campus when they call for assistance using a Wi-Fi pendant. This greatly improves staff's ability to respond to situations quickly. The same campus wide Wi-Fi network that supports the Healthsense eCall™ emergency call system can also be leveraged to support many other functions, such as electronic health records, medication management, staff communications (telephony) and wireless internet access for staff and residents.

The network's ability to support multiple functions lowers the maintenance and total life cycle costs for the community. David Fowler, Director of I.T. for Goodwin House, Inc., says that, "from an I.T. perspective, the Healthsense Wi-Fi platform has proven to be extremely reliable at our Goodwin House Alexandria community. We really put the back-up system to the test when we had to utilize the redundant system due to a failure of our primary internet system, which lasted close to 48 hours. The calls immediately switched over to Healthsense and our emergency call system never missed a call. The flexibility of a Wi-Fi network in supporting many additional functions has also proven to be very beneficial."

In addition to the multiple applications that can be supported on the Healthsense Wi-Fi platform, Bailey's Crossroads also has the option to implement additional Healthsense remote monitoring technology to meet future needs. The wide spread acceptance of Wi-Fi as a technology platform will help Bailey's Crossroads stay on the cutting edge of aging services technology, and as a result, continue to deliver a high quality of care.

Healthsense is very pleased to have the opportunity to continue to work with Goodwin House to meet the needs of their community.
