Bayonne Medical Center (BMC), announced today that it has resolved all outstanding issues with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, the largest provider of health insurance in the state of New Jersey. As of October 1, 2011, Bayonne Medical Center will be considered in-network for all services for Horizon subscribers.

“This agreement is a result of our ongoing, good-faith negotiations with Horizon and will allow us to continue providing the highest quality care for our patients.”

"I am very pleased to report that we have reached an agreement with Horizon with the best interests of our patients in mind," said Daniel Kane, CEO of BMC. "This agreement is a result of our ongoing, good-faith negotiations with Horizon and will allow us to continue providing the highest quality care for our patients."

BMC's pledge to the community and its patients is underscored by the significant improvements it has implemented across the hospital, including the completion of a new cardiac and vascular interventional unit, the only hospital-based PET/CT Scanner in Hudson County, the use of electronic medical records, and a family health center. Among BMC's most successful investments has been the restructuring of its Emergency Department, which now has an average patient wait time of substantially less than 30 minutes
