AABB accredits LABS for donor testing

LABS, Inc., a global, full-service testing laboratory with more than 30 years of expertise in regulated testing for human organs, cells, tissues and implantable biologic products and devices, today announced that it has been granted AABB Accreditation for donor testing. The voluntary accreditation program contributes to the quality and safety of collecting, processing, testing, distributing and administering blood and cellular therapy products.

LABS' accreditation follows an intensive on-site assessment by trained AABB assessors that established that the level of technical and administrative performance within the facility met or exceeded the standards set by AABB. By successfully meeting those requirements, LABS joins an elite group of facilities that have taken this extra step in quality principles. The accreditation program has been recognized by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).

"LABS sought the voluntary AABB Accreditation because the program helps us achieve excellence by promoting a level of professional and technical expertise that contributes to quality performance and patient safety," said Elizabeth Hearty, Chief Executive Officer of LABS, Inc. "LABS already has a trusted record of personalized service, compliance and integrity, and this accreditation is another demonstration of our absolute dedication to creating outstanding patient outcomes."
