Laboratory Supply Company (LABSCO), the largest privately held supplier of diagnostic instrumentation and clinical laboratory products to hospitals, physician office laboratories, reference labs and other non-acute care settings in the United States, raised more than $16,000 to benefit Kosair Children's Hospital through the Children's Hospital Foundation.

In their first LABSCO Gives Back charity event, employees conceived and created two fundraising events – a bowling evening and a casino night– that garnered tremendous participation among employees and supplier partners who were in Louisville attending the Company's national sales meeting at the end of January and beginning of February  LABSCO matched contributions dollar for dollar, to bring the total amount raised to $16,012.

"We are grateful to everyone at LABSCO for their support of Kosair Children's Hospital," said Lynnie Meyer, MSN, R.N., CFRE, executive director of the Children's Hospital Foundation. "It was wonderful to see LABSCO employees so dedicated and excited to be part of a fundraising effort for the hospital. They are a true example to our community."

"Core to our values at LABSCO is citizenship to the community," says Steve Nielsen, chief executive officer of LABSCO. "Kosair Children's Hospital is a nationally recognized advocate for children's health, and provides exceptional and compassionate care to children here locally. The entire LABSCO family is proud to be able to support Kosair Children's and its mission through our fundraising efforts."

LABSCO executives presented hospital representatives with a symbolic check during its company-wide meeting on February 22, 2012.

"We were awe inspired by the creativity, generosity and charitable spirit of everyone who participated in our LABSCO Gives Back events, including our employees and our supplier partners," says Dennie Galloway, LABSCO sales training manager, who served as project manager for the LABSCO Gives Back fundraisers. Heather Deitchman, director of corporate accounts operations, and Nathan Frisbie, key account manager, were also instrumental in organizing and promoting the events throughout LABSCO.
