FUJIFILM Synapse RIS v6.1 receives modular EHR certification for Meaningful Use for radiology

FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. today announced that Synapse^® RIS Version 6.1 has received modular electronic health record (EHR) certification for Meaningful Use for radiology. 

According to the HITECH act within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, approximately $1.5 billion in incentives is available to radiologists who use certified EHRs and show that they use them in a meaningful way. Vendors such as Fujifilm submit their health IT systems for testing and EHR certification by an authorized testing agency as set up by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).  Products receiving modular EHR certification meet multiple criteria, where as complete EHR certification meet all 33 ONC criteria.
