Modern Healthcare: House Leaders Press CMS For Details On Exchange Rules
With three months left until states must submit their insurance-exchange applications, House leaders are putting pressure on the CMS for more information about pending regulations related to those insurance marketplaces and Medicaid. Reps. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) sent a letter Monday to acting CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner that follows earlier requests regarding what they see as regulatory uncertainty that has "crippled states and health providers" in their exchange and Medicaid-expansion planning efforts (Zigmond, 8/20).
