IDG's CIO magazine names Meridian Health Plan as 2013 CIO 100 award recipient

Meridian Health Plan was named a 2013 CIO 100 award recipient by IDG's CIO magazine. This annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

"It is an honor and a privilege to win the CIO 100 award again," said Thomas Lauzon, CIO of Meridian Health Plan. "Through creative enhancements in our technology, the Meridian IT team enables our front line staff to provide outstanding service to the members and providers we serve."

This is the fifth time Meridian Health Plan received the CIO 100 award, winning in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012.

"For 26 years now, the CIO 100 awards have honored the innovative use of technology to deliver genuine business value," said Maryfran Johnson, Editor in Chief of CIO magazine & events. "Our 2013 winners are an outstanding example of the transformative power of IT to drive everything from revenue growth to competitive advantage."

The IT department at Meridian Health Plan is the backbone of the organization.

"We are proud to receive the CIO 100 award," said Dr. David B. Cotton, CEO of Meridian Health Plan. "We appreciate the dedication and hard work of our IT department and this award is proof of the great work being done within the company."

Executives from the winning companies will be recognized at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony, held on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo.
