California exchange certified Health Insurance Agents are ready and willing to assist policyholders

President Obama announced yesterday that he is requesting insurance carriers, who have provided cancellation notices to individual and family policyholders, to allow these policyholders to continue their existing policies throughout 2014.

"Californians need to take the time they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare plans," said Sam Smith, President of California Association of Health Underwriters (CAHU). "More than 6,000 California exchange certified Health Insurance Agents navigate the front lines of healthcare coverage on a daily basis and we are a reliable and consistent resource for all consumers and businesses coping with our changing healthcare situation."

"Agents are constantly communicating with all California insurance carriers," said Neil Crosby, V.P. of Public Affairs for CAHU. "As with all new information, whenever it becomes available, we immediately provide communication and guidance."

There are more than 30,000 health insurance agents in California. To find a professional licensed and exchange certified Agent who is a member of California Association of Health Underwriters go to CAHU.org, click on the banner "Agents are the Answer: Find a Licensed CAHU Health Insurance Agent".
