Top-Performing Multi-Specialty Medical Group Features More Than 2,100 Physicians in the Los Angeles Area

To help ensure greater access to quality health care for newly enrolled members of Covered California™ in the greater Los Angeles area, HealthCare Partners has signed a provider agreement with L.A. Care, the nation’s largest publicly operated health plan and a key health plan partner for the California Health Exchange.

More than 600 primary and specialty care physicians employed by HealthCare Partners as well as more than 1,500 contracted primary care physicians, along with a complete network of highly qualified specialists, will serve L.A. Care members through this agreement. One of California’s largest and top-performing medical groups, HealthCare Partners serves more than 500,000 patients through a vast footprint of medical offices as well as Urgent Care Centers, caring for patients from the San Fernando Valley to the South Bay and from Long Beach to the San Gabriel Valley.

“This is a historic moment for Los Angeles County and we are excited to offer an expanded L.A. Care Covered™ provider network through our partnership with HealthCare Partners, one of the largest, most respected and successful medical groups in the state,” said Howard A. Kahn, L.A. Care CEO. “Aligned with our mission, this will further ensure high quality and affordable health care for our growing membership of more than 1.2 million Angelenos.”

The agreement took effect on Jan. 1, 2014, and will be available to all L.A. Care members who are covered under bronze, silver, gold, platinum and catastrophic coverage plans.

HealthCare Partners was recently named one of California’s top-performing medical groups for the 10th year in a row by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA).
