The external thread, self-standing cryovials are compatible with both the common 9×9 cryoboxes and the special 10×10 cryoboxes, which offer up to 23% more storage space for samples than the 9×9 cryoboxes.
CAPP offers cryoboxes in both plastic (PP) and water-resistant cardboard for COVID-19 sample storage. Both substances can be used repeatedly at temperatures as low as –150 °C. Standard cryoboxes have a small 130 mm × 130 mm footprint and can hold up to 81 cryovials.
The space-saving 10×10 cryoboxes can accommodate up to 100 cryovials without an increase in size. The plastic 10×10 cryoboxes also have slanted edges for quick and precise closing.
