Pathology is the study and diagnosis of disease through examination of organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and whole bodies (autopsies). The term also encompasses the related scientific study of disease processes, called General pathology. Medical pathology is divided in two main branches, Anatomical pathology and Clinical pathology. Veterinary pathology is concerned with animal disease whereas Phytopathology is the study of plant diseases.

$40.5 million NIA grant to fund study of Alzheimer's disease in Asian Americans and Asian Canadians

A $40.5 million grant from the National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will fund the Asian Cohort for Alzheimer's Disease (ACAD) study at Penn Medicine and 15 other academic research centers across the United States and Canada.

In a world-first clinical trial published in the journal Nature Medicine, a multi-center study from Lawson Health Research Institute, the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) has found fecal microbiota transplants (FMT) from healthy donors are safe and show promise in improving response to immunotherapy in patients with advanced melanoma.
