HealthPlus of Michigan partners with Edifecs to achieve HIPAA 5010 compliance

Edifecs, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare software solutions specializing in Healthcare Channel Modernization for HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10, announced today that HealthPlus of Michigan has selected Edifecs solutions to accelerate their efforts to meet the upcoming HIPAA 5010 compliance mandate. Counterfeit drugs become growing problem

"Last year, nearly 1,700 incidents of counterfeit drugs were reported worldwide, triple the number in 2004, says the Pharmaceutical Security Institute (PSI), a group funded by drugmakers," USA Today reports. "Estimates for the size of the counterfeit drug market range from $75 billion to $200 billion a year. The market is likely much bigger because many cases are hard to detect.

New book relates mercury in vaccines to autism

The U.S. government revealed last week that they will compensate a family millions of dollars for their daughter's injury related to her infant vaccines that contained mercury and the subsequent development of autism. Yet, the CDC continues to tell the public that there is no connection between vaccines and autism and that the mercury has been removed, although the flu shot recommended for all pregnant women, infants, and children continues to be preserved with mercury.
