Neoprobe's Lymphoseek Phase 2 study data published in Annals of Surgical Oncology

Neoprobe Corporation (NEOP), a diversified developer of innovative oncology surgical and diagnostic products, today announced that results from a Phase II study of Lymphoseek® (Tilmanocept) have been published online in the Annals of Surgical Oncology and demonstrate the tracing agent's ability to identify tumor-draining lymph nodes in breast cancer and melanoma patients.

Discovery highlights unexpected role for killer protein in 'autophagy'

Scientists at Trinity College Dublin have made an important discovery concerning how fledgling cancer cells self-destruct, which has the potential of impacting on future cancer therapies. The Trinity research group, led by Smurfit Professor of Medical Genetics, Professor Seamus Martin and funded by Science Foundation Ireland, has just published their findings in the internationally renowned journal, Molecular Cell.

Study investigates risk of dysphagia after radiotherapy treatment for head & neck cancer

At the 3rd International Conference on innovative approaches in Head and Neck Oncology (ICHNO), Dr Hanna Rahbek Mortensen and colleagues at hospitals and institutes in Denmark presented results from a large prospective trial, the DAHANCA 6 & 7 study. The study, conducted across the country, investigated risk factors for developing dysphagia (swallowing dysfunction), after undergoing radiotherapy treatment for a head & neck cancer.

Study demonstrates ability of cobas HPV Test to detect HPV-16, HPV-18 genotypes linked to cervical cancer

Roche announced that a study published online today in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology demonstrated the ability of the cobas HPV Test to individually detect HPV-16 and HPV-18, two of the highest risk HPV genotypes causing 70 percent of cervical cancer cases.

Amgen today announced the publication of results from a Phase 3 head-to-head trial that compared XGEVA to Zometa in preventing bone complications called skeletal-related events in 1,901 men with prostate cancer and bone metastases.
