Clinical trial data from Array BioPharma's binimetinib and encorafenib presented at ECC 2015

Clinical trial results from Array BioPharma's wholly-owned MEK inhibitor, binimetinib, and BRAF inhibitor, encorafenib, were presented this weekend at the European Society of Medical Oncology's annual European Cancer Conference (ECC). At the meeting, preliminary data were shared from both a Phase 2 combination trial of binimetinib and encorafenib in BRAF-mutant melanoma patients (LOGIC2) and a Phase 1b/2 combination trial of binimetinib and ribociclib (Novartis, LEE011), a CDK4/6 inhibitor in NRAS-mutant melanoma patients.

Kolltan announces presentation of data from KTN0158 preclinical study in mast cell tumors at ESMO 2015

Kolltan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced the presentation of data from a preclinical study evaluating KTN0158 in dogs with spontaneous mast cell tumors. KTN0158 is a proprietary, humanized anti-KIT IgG1 monoclonal antibody drug candidate being developed as a potential therapy for cancer and mast cell-related diseases.

Two-drug combination improves progression-free survival in patients with advanced melanoma

Patients with advanced melanoma skin cancer survive for longer without their disease progressing if they have been treated with a combination of two drugs, nivolumab and ipilimumab, than with either of these drugs alone. New results show that these patients also do better regardless of their age, stage of disease and whether or not they have a cancer-driving mutation in the BRAF gene.

Combination of two targeted therapies increases survival in advanced melanoma

Latest results from a trial of a combination of two targeted therapies (dabrafenib and trametinib) to treat advanced melanoma have shown that patients are living significantly longer on the combined therapy than patients treated with another drug, vemurafenib, when used alone.

Innovative vaccine therapy shows promise against glioblastoma brain tumors

An innovative vaccine therapy developed at Roswell Park Cancer Institute is being tested in a multisite clinical trial involving 50 patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma brain tumors.
