Provectus holds second meeting with Australian TGA to review approval of PV-10 for metastatic melanoma

Provectus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a development-stage oncology and dermatology biopharmaceutical company, has held its second meeting with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration ("TGA") to discuss milestones for approval of PV-10 for treatment of metastatic melanoma. The TGA is the part of the Australian Government's Department of Health and Ageing responsible for the assessment, approval and monitoring of therapeutic goods available in Australia. The initial meeting with the TGA was held in October 2008.

Spectral Molecular Imaging awarded $190,172 QTDP grant for development of melanoma detection system

Cascade Technologies Corp., announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Spectral Molecular Imaging, Inc. (SMI) has received a grant under the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project (QTDP) program to advance the development of the company's SkinSpect system for the detection of melanoma and other skin cancers.

Genta commences tesetaxel Phase 2b clinical trial as 1st-line chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer

Genta Incorporated today announced that the Company has initiated a new Phase 2b clinical trial of tesetaxel as 1st-line chemotherapy for women with metastatic breast cancer. Tesetaxel is the leading oral taxane currently in clinical development. The new trial will be conducted at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY and at the Accelerated Community Oncology Research Network (ACORN) based in Memphis, TN.

Bristol-Myers extends time to review BLA for ipilimumab in melanoma

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that additional time is required to complete the review of the biologics license application (BLA) for ipilimumab in pre-treated advanced melanoma, and has moved its decision date from December 25, 2010 to March 26, 2011.

Celldex third quarter net loss increases to $9.1 million

Celldex Therapeutics, Inc. today reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2010. Celldex reported a net loss of $9.1 million, or $0.28 per share, for the third quarter of 2010 compared to a net loss of $7.2 million, or $0.45 per share, for the third quarter of 2009. For the nine months ended September 30, 2010, Celldex reported a net loss of $25.2 million, or $0.79 per share, compared to a net loss of $23.6 million, or $1.49 per share, for the nine months ended September 30, 2009.
