END7 campaign launches tweet chat series

The END7 campaign, a global advocacy campaign run by the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) "to raise awareness of the seven most common NTDs and cultivate the resources necessary to end them by 2020," is launching a tweet chat series on Twitter, which aims to bring global health non-governmental organizations together "to ask questions and share tips on social media," a post in the Global Network's "End the Neglect" blog reports.

In case you missed it, a recommendation came out last month that physicians cut back on using 45 common tests and treatments. ... Most doctors will agree with the recommendations on the list. But the problem of overuse is less one of bad doctors although there are a few; the problem is more one of good doctors working in a bad system. ... But we have to start somewhere - and this list is a good start. Now it needs to be extended.

Many Americans would rather get a good night's sleep than have sex

A national survey by the Better Sleep Council (BSC) found that 61 percent of Americans and a whopping 79 percent of women would rather get a good night's sleep than have sex. The survey also found that nearly half of Americans fall asleep somewhere other than their bed at least once a week, and about 11 percent fall asleep somewhere other than their bed every day.
