2 SARS patients in Beijing discharged from hospital

Xinhua reported today that there were no new cases of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) over the past 24 hours in China and 2 SARS patients in Beijing were discharged from hospital.

The Chinese Health Ministry said the 2 discharged patients were the parents of Li, the 20-year-old nurse and 1st SARS patient in the recent outbreak.

The Ministry also stated that the remaining 4 SARS patients were still hospitalized in Beijing. 1 patient is in a serious condition but the other 3 are on the road to recovery.

None of the 747 initial primary contacts have shown any abnormal symptoms and all have been removed from observation.
