The Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission announces its annual meeting will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. on the campus of Georgia Military College - Legislative Chamber/Old Capitol Building in Milledgeville, GA. The Commission will accept public comment on its revisions to the Trust Fund distribution polices during this meeting. The public is invited to comment on this or on other disability-related issues as they pertain to traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries during this meeting.

In addition, Commission Chairman Rusty Kidd of Milledgeville, GA will present the Commission's 2009 Pathfinder Award for Outstanding Service to Susan Johnson who is the Director of Brain Injury Services at Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

Commissioner Gina Gelinas will bestow the Commission's Larry Huggins Memorial Award to Mimi Gold who is Education Coordinator for the Day Program for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

The Commission will also mark the contributions made by Commissioners David Renz, Lee Miller, Lisa Dawson and Carl McCrae as they retire from the Commission this year.
