GuardianEdge, the leader in endpoint data protection, today announced that Children's Hospital and Health System in Wisconsin, one of the leading centers for pediatric health care in the United States, is deploying the GuardianEdge Hard Disk Encryption solution. The encryption solution will protect 500 laptops within the organization.

"We selected GuardianEdge because they provide reliable, best-in-class products and have offered great support to my team before and during the deployment process," said Chuck Klawans, the hospital's information security officer. "HIPAA regulations require us to adequately protect patient information. We wanted to encrypt the hard drives on laptops that leave our facilities, ensuring that even if the laptops are lost or stolen, there would be no breach of patient or any other confidential information."

Children's Hospital and Health System is an independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The 14 entities that make up the system work to improve the lives of children through care giving, advocacy, research and education. The Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is the only hospital in the state specifically for children and is a private, independent, not-for-profit facility. The hospital treats thousands of children each year in specialty clinics and the Emergency Department/Trauma Center.

"Our customers in the health care industry are bound by strict regulations like HIPAA, and they trust GuardianEdge solutions to ensure they meet the legal requirements involved with protecting sensitive patient and business information," said Ram Krishnan, senior vice president of products and marketing at GuardianEdge. "Children's Hospital and Health System completed thorough testing and a pilot deployment with our team, and because of the success of the pilot, they are now confident that the important information on their laptops is safe when they leave the facilities."
