Sigma-Aldrich to distribute ThalesNano's CatCart catalyst products globally

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Sigma-Aldrich (Nasdaq: SIAL) announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement with ThalesNano, the world leader in bench top flow chemistry instruments, the terms of which will see Sigma-Aldrich distribute ThalesNano's complete line of approximately 400 CatCart® catalyst products for flow chemistry solutions on a global basis.

ThalesNano flow reactors and CatCart catalyst cartridges provide organic chemists in academic research, large pharmaceutical companies and the chemical and petroleum industries with the means to perform catalytic reactions that are often not possible using traditional batch chemistry processes. Using this technology, chemists can develop new chemicals, or devise faster, better yielding routes and processes to produce existing chemicals.

"Sigma-Aldrich is proud to partner with an innovative company like ThalesNano and to support the next-generation technology of flow chemistry," said Nigel Mobbs, Sigma-Aldrich Market Segment Manager. "Flow chemistry solutions offer many advantages over traditional methods of performing organic synthesis, delivering better yields and faster reactions, while eliminating many reaction hazards. ThalesNano's H-Cube®, H-Cube Midi(TM) and X-Cube(TM) flow reactors and CatCart catalyst cartridges give chemists more reactions, with shorter development and scale-up times. Sigma-Aldrich distribution will provide chemists around the world easier access to research and the ability to develop new molecules using these flow reactors and catalysts."

Dominic Gallello, Executive Co-Chairman at ThalesNano added: "Sigma-Aldrich is a trusted brand recognized around the world. Our goal is to provide our global customers with the availability and rapid delivery of catalysts, critical elements to accelerate the discovery process in a broader range of industries."
