AirWatch™, a leading provider of enterprise-wide Mobile Device Management (MDM) software, today announced a partnership with Homecare Homebase™. The partnership enables Homecare Homebase to license the AirWatch Mobile Device Management Solution under the name Device Link to its growing customer base of hospice and home healthcare agencies. Installed customers of the Homecare Homebase agency automation solution can use Device Link, the newest addition to the Homecare Connections™ suite of products, to track, monitor and manage—in real time—every point-of-care mobile device deployed to the field. Device Link already supports 2,500 mobile devices used by hospice and home healthcare professionals in the daily care and treatment of patients across the U.S.

Employing a multi-tiered architecture, Device Link, which is powered by AirWatch, provides help desk staff at each home healthcare and hospice agency with a single, real-time view of the status and current location of every mobile and wireless device in their inventory, including such devices as the HTC Tilt, HTC Fuze and the HTC Touch Pro 2.

AirWatch’s flexible architecture provides Homecare Homebase with unlimited scalability, as well as the ability to host a single, integrated management console for all of their customers. This multi-tiered architecture and the solution’s overall flexibility allow Device Link to meet the expanding mobility needs of Homecare Homebase’s customer base.

“Our customers deploy more than 20,000 mobile devices right now, and that number grows each day so it was critical we partner with a company that can scale up as our needs change. We also wanted a partner with a proven track record in building enterprise-grade solutions,” said Guy Conces, CTO of Homecare Homebase. “AirWatch successfully delivered on both fronts, even with our rigorous selection criteria.”

The solution allows an agency’s IT staff to update and troubleshoot device issues remotely, eliminating unnecessary trips to the home office for service or device replacement. Additionally, an agency’s help desk can define and automatically enforce configuration standards for its different types of mobile devices from a central location, whether the user is connected to the network or not. If a device becomes lost or is stolen, the help desk can easily and instantly connect to the device, locking it down and, if needed, completely delete all confidential and sensitive information. Another unique feature is the ability to send bulk messages to all field staff or some user-defined subset, resulting in better, more streamlined communications and, ultimately, better patient care.

“Without real-time, centralized or integrated visibility, trying to track and manage our inventory of mobile devices was both time consuming and inefficient,” said Lakita Farmer, IT manager of Encompass Home Health. “With the Device Link mobile device management solution, we gain an immediate and real-time view of every mobile device used by our nurses and home health aides. As a result, we can now provide them with a better support experience and, more importantly, free them to focus their energy on the patient, not on troubleshooting their mobile device. An added benefit was that AirWatch allowed us to achieve the highest standards for HIPAA compliance.”

“We partnered with Homecare Homebase because of their clear leadership in mobile applications designed for the delivery and management of hospice and home healthcare. Their successful combination of industry experience, proven processes and innovative technology helps these agencies dramatically improve their operations,” said John Marshall, president and CEO of AirWatch. “We are thrilled our technology can further improve the effectiveness and efficiencies of the Homecare Homebase solution through better support and management of each agency’s mobile devices.”
