HireRight, Inc., an Altegrity company and a leader in on-demand employment background and drug screening, announced today the close of its acquisition of National Diagnostics, Inc. (NDI), a full-service provider of drug testing and physical exam services that has served U.S. and global employers of all sizes for almost 20 years. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“NDI’s deep expertise, full-service offering, and technology-driven approach mesh well with HireRight’s commitment to innovation, quality and customer satisfaction,” said Mike Petrullo, HireRight president and CEO. “We believe this strategic combination will further enhance our drug and health screening offering and deliver additional value and choice to our growing customer base.”

NDI, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, was founded in 1990 and manages a broad collection network located at more than 18,000 medical facilities across North America. Processing millions of transactions each year for its broad base of clients, NDI’s service offerings include comprehensive drug testing and physical examination services for regulated and non-regulated industries, Department of Transportation testing and compliance solutions, and review services provided by on-staff licensed professionals certified by the American Association of Medical Review Officers (AAMRO) and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM).

Phillip Greene, M.D., president, CEO, and founder of NDI, will report to Mr. Petrullo and will continue to manage the NDI business from NDI’s corporate headquarters in Charlotte.

“We are pleased to join the HireRight team and this well-respected company,” said Dr. Greene. “This business combination will provide the resources, scale, and professional support required to further extend our service and solution offerings while maintaining the industry expertise, customer focus, and excellent service levels our customers have come to expect from us.”

“NDI has significant industry expertise in the delivery of drug and health screening services, including a proven track record of providing compliance-based solutions and developing a ‘most trusted advisor’ relationship with its customers,” said Mike Cherkasky, CEO of Altegrity, HireRight’s parent company. “Adding NDI’s integrated drug screening solution into HireRight’s service offerings provides additional value for our customers and creates new value for NDI’s existing customer base, which I welcome to the Altegrity family. Strategically for Altegrity, this acquisition builds momentum behind our corporate growth initiatives that are based on providing industry-leading solutions to our customers.”
