Top marketing representatives of Omni Hotels & Resorts and the other Global Hotel Alliance brand members recently hosted a unique "Lasso for Life" event benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The luxury hotel brands from across the world readily joined forces to raise money in memory of Jason Harmon, an Omni and GHA associate who succumbed to lymphoma cancer in May.

Nearly $10,000 in personal donations and hotel voucher donations were raised at the event, held at Billy Bob's Texas, "The World's Largest Honky Tonk," with more than 127,000 square feet of space. Members of the Global Hotel Alliance's marketing committee, made up of marketing executives from hotels all over the world, converged to donate their time to LLS. Representatives from the Doyle Collection, Pan Pacific, Anantara, First, Kempinski, Leela Palaces, Marco Polo, Mirvac, Parkroyal, Tivoli and Omni Hotels took turns roping "calves" made from a bales of hay in exchange for donations.

"Jason was a valued member of our team who put so much into all he did," said Chris Hartley, chief executive officer of the Global Hotel Alliance. "We wanted to honor him by raising money and awareness for such a worthy cause."

"The Lasso for Life event was a great success," said Tom Santora, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales for Omni Hotels. "This was an excellent way to end our year by celebrating the life of a special friend and colleague."
