In response to President Barack Obama's bipartisan health summit on February 25, Newt Gingrich's Center for Health Transformation (CHT) will host the "American People's Online Health Summit," a LIVE blog to engage the American people in health reform negotiations and give them a voice in Washington.
As the nation's eyes are on the White House summit, the LIVE Blog begins at 10 a.m. EST at www.healthtransformation.net. CHT Founder and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, in addition to leading health care experts and the American public, will participate throughout the day. CHT will ask critical questions, express desired outcomes, and present the best policy ideas on health reform.
"After a year of backroom dealings, the White House has finally agreed to openly televised, bipartisan health care negotiations. Unfortunately, not everyone's voice will be heard. The American People's Online Health Summit will give the American public, not just Washington insiders, a means to express their opinions about perhaps the most important piece of health care legislation this country has seen in two generations," says CHT Founder and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
Over the past week, CHT has been providing solutions while soliciting feedback from a panel of health experts and the American public to the most pressing issues hindering reform. These include escalating healthcare costs; the prevalence of fraud, waste and abuse within the Medicare and Medicaid systems; expanding insurance coverage; reforming the health justice system; increasing quality and patient safety; accelerating scientific discovery and innovation; and delivering health information technology into the hands of providers.
After the White House summit concludes, Speaker Gingrich will provide his analysis of the President's summit and highlight the ideas brought forward by the American people.
