Intelerad Medical Systems, a recognized leader in medical imaging PACS and workflow solutions, today announced that Carolina Regional Radiology PA (CRR) will be leveraging InteleOne to interconnect its facilities. CRR is a full-service radiology practice serving a ten-county region in southeastern North Carolina. CRR employs 21 radiologists reporting over half-a-million studies per year, offering on-site services and teleradiology to two imaging centers, four hospitals, and more than a dozen small clinics.

“We want a proven solution that will deliver the flexibility and assurance needed for our growth, without business interruption as we add new sites. As well, we can increase efficiencies by balancing workloads, and achieve faster report turnaround time without compromising the quality of patient care”

InteleOne’s distributed architecture will provide true interoperability between the different sites’ PACS and RIS systems, with a fault-tolerant, fully-replicated and always-on IT infrastructure. Automatic load-balancing and high-speed streaming will optimize network bandwidth, while providing CRR radiologists with instantaneous and transparent access to medical information and images, including pre-fetched priors, regardless of where the radiologists are located.

“We want a proven solution that will deliver the flexibility and assurance needed for our growth, without business interruption as we add new sites. As well, we can increase efficiencies by balancing workloads, and achieve faster report turnaround time without compromising the quality of patient care,” said Bruce Distell MD, President of Carolina Regional Radiology PA. “Intelerad will allow us to remain on the leading-edge of new technology in the field of radiology”.

“CRR is an established radiology group servicing busy facilities around the clock. They will benefit from a unified workflow from image acquisition, through dictation to delivery of final reports. Embedded digital dictation, multi-modality customized viewing, and integrated mammography are just a few of the advanced features available to CRR radiologists,” said Chris Henri, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Intelerad Medical Systems. “We are enthusiastic to work with CRR, and are confident that InteleOne will let them take their practice to the next level.”
