HealthInsight provides HealthMedia online Digital Coaching solution to Sutter Physician Services

HealthInsight, provider of the leading value-based health care administration platform, today announced the company is providing the HealthMedia^®online Digital Coaching solution to Sutter Physician Services for their new Wellness 2010 program. The combination of HealthInsight’s value-based compliance tracking and HealthMedia’s online Digital Coaching solution will help Sutter dramatically reduce their health care costs while improving their employees’ health.

“While legislative opinions are sharply divided over health care reform, everyone agrees that we have to find a way to lower spiraling health care costs,” said Martin Watson, CEO of HealthInsight. “And one of the most effective ways to do that is through a value-based program such as Sutter Physician Services’ Wellness 2010 program.”

Value-based health care programs improve the quality of health care and reduce costs by encouraging individuals to participate in preventive health practices. In Sutter Physician Services’ case, this includes participating in a routine annual physician visit, completing a biometric screening and completing a health questionnaire. Once these tasks have been completed, Healthy Workplace members are rewarded with a payroll credit that is applied to the cost of the annual benefit program.

HealthInsight automatically generates a personalized Health Action plan that is unique to the individual. Health Actions are activities that a member follows in order to maintain or improve their health. For example, if a biometric screening reveals a member is pre-diabetic, that member’s Health Actions may include asking the individual to complete a fasting blood sugar test, schedule an appointment with their physician, participate in an online smoking cessation program and engage in a daily exercise routine.

HealthMedia’s online health coaching programs act as an added resource and incentive to assist individuals in completing their Health Actions. The suite of coaching services is designed to address wellness, disease management, behavioral health and medication adherence. Coaching programs currently developed for Sutter Physician Services program include programs for depression, smoking cessation, diabetes, stress management, weight management and physical activity.
