Sharp Health Plan selects PureWellness for supporting NCQA accreditation goals

PureWellness, Inc., the leading provider of online wellness solutions, announced today that San Diego-based Sharp Health Plan selected the company to deliver a comprehensive online wellness platform for their employer groups and members.

Sharp Health Plan President and CEO Melissa Hayden Cook said, "The health and wellness of our members is a top priority for Sharp Health Plan.  In Pure Wellness, we found a business partner that shares our vision for creating a simple, engaging online wellness experience.  By using their system, we can focus on developing innovative wellness services that produce real results."

The PureWellness platform is NCQA certified, demonstrating compliance with NCQA requirements for Health Risk Assessments (HIP1), Interactive Consumer Tools (HIP2), and Encouraging Wellness and Prevention (HIP5).  Because PureWellness is certified in these areas, their customers can receive automatic credit to MEM1 (Elements A-F), MEM2 (Elements A-E), and MEM8 (Elements A & B), respectively.  "This gives health plans like Sharp confidence that PureWellness is the right wellness platform to support their NCQA accreditation goals," said Barbara Rouleau, chief medical officer of PureWellness.

Dr. Nora Faine, Sharp Health Plan's vice president and chief medical officer, noted, "It was important to partner with a vendor that could support our efforts to design and align our programs with NCQA's wellness and health promotion accreditation in mind.  This partnership with PureWellness facilitates these efforts and supports our ultimate goal of engaging members in healthier behaviors and lifestyle choices."
