SRI/Surgical Express announces sponsorship of Practice Greenhealth's Greening the OR Symposium

SRI/Surgical Express, Inc. (Nasdaq:STRC), a leading provider of reusable surgical device reprocessing services supporting the healthcare industry, is pleased to announce their sponsorship of Practice Greenhealth's Greening the OR Symposium, scheduled for April 27, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Robert Jarboe, executive director of Practice Greenhealth, stated, "As the nation's leading healthcare membership organization driving the implementation of environmentally responsible practices, we are pleased to be launching this initiative for Greening the OR and improving the environmental impact of healthcare."

SRI Surgical, a leading supplier of environmentally friendly products specifically designed for the OR, is a charter member of Practice Greenhealth and a 2009 winner of the Champion for Change Award. "Our commitment to sustainable solutions is not limited to the products and services we provide our healthcare customers," states Gerald Woodard, CEO of SRI Surgical, "but SRI is also committed to being a good steward of the environment in the communities that we serve. Our reprocessing facilities employ efficient water management processes, energy saving strategies, and use friendly chemicals in the reprocessing of our surgical linen and instruments. Our employees take great pride in the fact that SRI Surgical has been recognized by the EPA as a WasteWise Partner, a SmartWay Transport Partner, and recently received the SDSI (Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative) Champion award."

Waste reduction in the OR begins by selecting and purchasing environmentally preferable products that meet the needs of the clinical user.  SRI Surgical's dedication to providing quality products is as steadfast as our commitment to environmental sustainability.  During this symposium, hospital and industry leaders will have an opportunity to discuss key greening strategies that are employed today, how to overcome barriers to success, and what research may be needed to validate greening and efficacy claims in our industry.

Practice Greenhealth's Greening the OR Symposium is being co-sponsored by SRI Surgical, HCA, and Ascent Healthcare Solutions.
