Pan American Bank (Los Angeles) today announced that it has partnered with the UCLA Youth Methamphetamine Treatment Study, LatinoGraduate.net and The Wall-Las Memorias Project to host a town hall meeting that addresses the negative health and societal consequences of methamphetamine abuse by Latino youth.
“This town hall meeting is provided to increase awareness of the work being conducted by the Greater East Los Angeles Meth Task Force.”
"Methamphetamine abuse is a significant problem that creates severe negative health and societal consequences. While methamphetamine affects nearly every community in Southern California, Latino youth in the East Los Angeles area may be particularly impacted due to political, economic, and social inequalities," said Pan American Bank CEO Jesse Torres. On Saturday, May 8th, 2010, a town hall meeting featuring a panel of professionals, community leaders, and community members will discuss the issue of methamphetamine abuse among Latino youth and will highlight resources available in East Los Angeles that address methamphetamine problems.
