Healthcore Media, LLC has launched http://www.onehealth.com, a dynamic, educational and community-oriented health website that is quickly taking center stage among health portals. Chronic illnesses are at an all-time high, and unbiased medical information and supportive connections with others are taking top priority across the world. One Health has answered the call.

"We saw the desperate need for people to educate themselves on their own health and medical issues, along with their need to connect locally with others to discuss their health issues," says Daniel Weixeldorfer, President and co-founder of Healthcore Media, LLC.

Daniel's wife, Kristine Weixeldorfer, has struggled with debilitating health issues for over a decade. "When we were hit with Kris's prognosis that she had 18 months or less to live, she and I needed education and support. We have built the exact online community health portal that we wish existed when she began this unbelievable journey," says Weixeldorfer. "Kris is an amazing inspiration and the very reason www.onehealth.com was created."

The idea for the site took hold during Kris's health battle that began with stomach pain that evolved into over 7 surgeries: the removal of her pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, part of her stomach, over 150 diabetic seizures to date, denial of health insurance covering medical devices, and more twists and turns than one could imagine.

"One of the main cornerstones of our site, so to speak, is the ability for readers to start their own 'Corner,' to share their trials and tribulations from both a caregiver and patient perspective; a personal blog to share and interact with others," says Weixeldorfer. Both Daniel and Kris update their corners daily and the outreach and support they have received has been overwhelmingly positive.

In addition, http://www.onehealth.com offers thousands of educational health articles and hundreds of videos to help readers understand their bodies, from the digestive and circulatory systems, to ADHD, pediatrics, MRIs, bone scans and various forms of cancer. Articles range from how to eat for lower cholesterol and how to get restful sleep, to dealing with chronic pain and fibromyalgia.

"Our approach is simple - build a community from the ground up without any paid celebrity endorsements or product selling," shares Weixeldorfer. "The best way to think of us is a virtual support group."

OneHealth.com is gaining ground quickly as an authority in health and medical issues, and is becoming the foremost place for a growing community to talk about their day-to-day struggles and accomplishments. "The response has been amazing. People are thrilled to have a place to educate themselves, share their experiences, and connect with others for support," said Weixeldorfer.
