TRS Institute (TRSi), the nation's leading provider of AHDI-approved online medical transcription and speech recognition training programs, announces two new courses designed for healthcare documentation professionals, medical transcriptionists, and allied health professionals. The online courses will assist healthcare professionals in honing skills to increase their marketability in the healthcare documentation field.
CEO Peter Reilly says that healthcare reform's emphasis on electronic health records is driving an increased need for high quality healthcare documentation to support patient care, reimbursement/proof of service and the goal of meaningful use of EHRs. As a result, medical transcription/billing and coding and other healthcare documentation services are high-growth areas with a shortage of qualified candidates. TRSi is committed to make job training programs widely accessible to all allied health professionals with introductory pricing on all specialty and credentialing courses until December 31. The new courses are:
- An Allied Health Professional's Guide to Thriving in a World with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
This 8-week course is designed for Healthcare Documentation Specialists, Medical Transcriptionists, and allied health professionals. It integrates an overview of issues and concepts with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in an EHR practice environment. It covers the use of EHR in ambulatory care clinics and hospital facilities, an introduction to the content, features, and functions utilizing McKesson's Practice Partner EHR, and a focus on the issues of privacy and security.
- Anatomy and Physiology for Allied Health Professionals
This 12-week course covers all major body systems that interrelate to maintain bodily homeostasis. Students will study diseases involving all parts of the body and gain an understanding of the workings and interrelatedness of body systems and functions. It is an essential background for students entering many health related careers. Case studies, diagrams and videos make this independent study course interesting and engaging.
