BIOTONE announces a donation of $5,000 to the Council of Community Clinics to help fund diagnostics for breast cancer. The San Diego-based Council of Community Clinics provides centralized support services to 16 member community clinic and health center organizations operating nearly 100 sites in San Diego, Imperial, and Riverside Counties in California.

“Among our corporate giving programs, breast cancer research and prevention have been major priorities”

"With BIOTONE's help, we are able to work with our member community clinics to provide important diagnostics to screen for breast cancer," noted Gary Rotto, director of health policy for the Council of Community Clinics. "A visit to your local community clinic can link you to these services on a timely basis."

BIOTONE's donation will fund mammograms, biopsies and ultrasounds for women who cannot otherwise afford these services in an effort to detect the disease early to improve their health outcomes.

"Among our corporate giving programs, breast cancer research and prevention have been major priorities," said Jean Shea, BIOTONE president. "We helped fund critical research on the benefits of massage therapy to boost the immune functionality of women with breast cancer. Over the years, we also have supported National Breast Cancer Awareness Month through special promotions, donating a percentage of sales to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Today's announcement is yet another expression of BIOTONE's continued commitment to help in the fight against breast cancer."
