New water dispenser with Firewall UV technology deactivates harmful micro-organisms

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Waterlogic water dispensers with Firewall™ UV technology, have become the world's first bottle-less water coolers to be awarded dual certification for achieving the highest levels of drinking water purification.

“As well as using specially adapted UV light technology to deactivate harmful micro-organisms which might enter from the mains water source, the smart positioning of a UV lamp at the point of dispense also prevents any back contamination, from airborne bacteria or from the user.”

Tested and certified by the Water Quality Association, Waterlogic machines with Firewall™ technology have achieved a double-certification whammy - attaining both the stringent NSF (National Sanitization Foundation) 55 class A standard for Ultraviolet Microbiological Water Treatment Systems and the rigorous NSF Protocol P231 for Microbiological Water Purifiers.

Independent laboratory tests in China, Germany, Sweden and the USA prove that even when micro-organisms may have contaminated the water supply, Waterlogic machines with Firewall™ technology still dispense highly purified, safe drinking water - guarding against many of the more resistant strains of waterborne bacteria that can cause illness.

Chris Garner, Waterlogic Marketing Director, comments, "As well as using specially adapted UV light technology to deactivate harmful micro-organisms which might enter from the mains water source, the smart positioning of a UV lamp at the point of dispense also prevents any back contamination, from airborne bacteria or from the user."

Highly effective against Pseudomonas

Dr Klaus-Peter Lörcher is a highly-regarded expert in the fields of analytical chemistry and drinking water, and Head of the Dr Lörcher Institute in the Stuttgart region of Germany. He explains, "Analysis has shown that the Firewall™ UV technology works outstandingly well and is capable of reducing even the more resistant bacteria in an excellent way. When tested after long periods of stagnation, the Firewall™ UV technology still produces excellent reduction ratios. Our Institute can certify that the Firewall™ has a 99.999% (five-log reduction) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Legionella pneumophila."

Chris Garner, says, "According to the American Journal of Public Health, 30 per cent of all gastrointestinal illnesses are waterborne and preventable. However, Waterlogic technology overcomes the problems of water quality issues with a four-stage approach. Firstly, carbon filters remove impurities. Secondly Firewall™ eliminates the growth of bacteria and viruses from mains-fed water. Thirdly, the system eliminates any potential for 'reverse' contamination from user or air and finally, key external parts are protected with BioCote®, a unique silver-based antimicrobial technology. With supreme (class A) UV treatment guaranteeing the standard of every cup of cold, ambient or sparkling water dispensed - the Firewall™ breaks new ground for point-of-use water-purification systems."
