NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi) today announced the industry's first stabilized LED backlight, available in all new 26" Radiance G2 High-Bright surgical displays. Backlight stabilization assures consistent brightness of images over the life of the display—specified at 25,000 hours—without any dimming or compromise in luminance output. The result is a new level of image clarity and consistency, with enhanced brightness, contrast and color.
“For the first time, surgical teams can count on working with high-bright images that will remain precise and consistent in their luminance output over years of usage.”
"The new 26" Radiance G2 High-Bright displays usher in a new era of backlight innovation in HD surgical visualization technology," said Jens Ruppert, Vice President & General Manager, Surgical Business Unit at NDSsi. "For the first time, surgical teams can count on working with high-bright images that will remain precise and consistent in their luminance output over years of usage."
The backlight stabilization in the 26" Radiance HB products is calibrated to 500 cd/m² using the NDS Intelli-Guard™ Backlight Control System. Specification comparisons show that no other surgical display in the industry can achieve the luminance benchmarks of the new 26" Radiance G2 HB.
Along with the industry's first stabilized LED backlight, all 26" Radiance G2 HB displays will ship with NDSsi's proprietary Color Correction Technology (CCT), a dynamic color calibration solution. Color Correction Technology ensures accurate, consistent color across all screens, whether installed on carts or booms, or in different rooms.
To complement the technological innovation of the product, the stabilized LED backlight will be warrantied for 5 years or 25,000 hours, whichever comes first.
NDSsi at AORN 2011 - The 26" Radiance G2 HB will be unveiled at the NDSsi booth #1322 during the 2011 AORN Congress, March 19 - 24, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA.
